Emeritus Professor Robert Pho Professor Kevin Chung
The RWH Pho lectureship was established to honour Emeritus Professor Robert WH Pho's contribution to the development of orthopaedic, hand, and microsurgery in Singapore and internationally. Held yearly, a prominent international musculoskeletal tumour or hand surgeon is invited to Singapore for several days of teaching and scientific exchange with the various Orthopaedic and Hand departments.
This year we have the honour of inviting Professor Kevin Chung from the University of Michigan Medical School as our RWH Pho Lecturer. Professor Chung is a world renowned Hand Surgeon and NIH funded researcher. His research interests are in the structuring of evidence-based practice and research in hand surgery. He has published over 230 manuscripts, 90 book chapters, and 9 textbooks. Professor Chung developed the Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire, which is widely used in this country and around the world for measuring outcomes after hand surgery. He is a director on the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and holds office in several other national Hand and Plastic Surgery Societies. He is the deputy Editor for the Journal of Hand Surgery, the premier hand surgery journal. In the University of Michigan, he is Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs and Associate Director for Global Reach.
The highlight of the programme is the RWH Pho lecture. This year's lecture will be held on 6th July 2010 at 5.30pm at the CRC Auditorium (MD11), National University of Singapore. We believe that this lecture will be of interest to you and your staff, and would like to extend our warmest invitation for you to join us at this lecture and the rest of the programme.
